FAD “ Il metodo Artistico Transdisciplinare nella cura dei pazienti cronici” –

The Civic Museum of Castelbuono collaborates with the Buccheri La Ferla Fatebenefratelli Hospital in Palermo to promote an asynchronous distance-learning (FAD) training course entitled  “Metodo Artistico Transdisciplinare nella cura dei pazienti cronici” (The Transdisciplinary Artistic Method in the Care of Chronic Patients).

This initiative represents the concluding event of the project PDTA FIBROMIALGIA. Appropriatezza clinica, strutturale ed operativa nella diagnosi precoce e nella cura dei pazienti cronici  (PDTA Fibromyalgia: Clinical, Structural and Operational Appropriateness in Early Diagnosis and in the Management of Patients with Fibromyalgia Syndrome).

Experts in the fields of culture and health will explore topics including narrative medicine, the Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) methodology, complex systems, transdisciplinarity, stress and psychoneuroendocrinoimmunology (PNEI), stress in relation to care approaches, and the training of medical staff through the Medical Humanities.

Among the speakers is Laura Barreca, Director of the Civic Museum of Castelbuono, who will present “The Museum as a Common Good: Culture for Wellbeing and the Improvement of Quality of Life in the Local Area.”

The course is delivered entirely in asynchronous mode and has a duration of 10 hours, offering 10 ECM (Continuing Medical Education) credits for up to 500 medical participants. It was available free of charge from 1 November 2022 to 31 December 2022.

The course remains available indefinitely to all users—without ECM credits (including healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers)—with guest access.
