A collaboration between the Castelbuono Civic Museum, the Tiberio Gorges and Zipline Sicilia

The Castelbuono Civic Museum is pleased to announce the launch of the “Art, Nature, Adventure in the Madonie” project, a collaboration between the Castelbuono Civic Museum, the Gole di Tiberio and Zipline Sicilia, which will allow visitors to the Museum to benefit from discounts at all three sites. The aim is to enhance the tourist offering by promoting the cultural and natural heritage that characterises the Madonie region. Visitors to the Civic Museum will be able to obtain a discount voucher by presenting their Civic Museum ticket at the Gole di Tiberio and Zipline Sicilia, and vice versa.

Zipline Sicilia, which opened in August 2020 in San Mauro Castelverde, is the only one in Italy situated at an altitude of almost 1,000 metres and set against a natural backdrop of the sea, with a breathtaking panorama stretching from the 2,000-metre peaks of the Madonie mountains to those of the Nebrodi, offering enchanting views of some of the Aeolian Islands off Messina and Ustica off Palermo. The Sicily Zip Line is a wild plunge towards the Tyrrhenian Sea between the provinces of Palermo and Messina along the Pollina river valley, amidst natural woodlands of oak, holm oak and ancient olive trees, and the only site in the world where manna is still harvested from ash trees. The Gole di Tiberio, a UNESCO Geopark site, are located in the Madonie Park along the River Pollina between the territories of San Mauro Castelverde and Castelbuono. The rubber dinghy excursion organised by Madonie Outdoor asd involves crossing the 400-metre-long gorge and a walk along the River Pollina which, depending on the season, takes place downstream to the small gorge or upstream to the small lakes; in both cases, swimming is possible. Along the route, you can admire the flora and fauna typical of the river environment. Inside the gorge, you can observe: fossils, U miricu, birds’ nests, the Brigands’ Rock, the play of light, and unspoilt, wild vegetation immersed in silence. www.goleditiberio.com

Discounts The agreement offers a discount of €4 for Zipline Sicilia (ticket price reduced from €40 to €36) or €2 for the Tiberio Gorges (ticket price reduced from €17 to €15). The discount cannot be combined with other offers and is valid either for Zipline Sicilia or for the Gole di Tiberio. Conversely, visitors to Zipline Sicilia and the Gole di Tiberio will be issued a €2 discount voucher, which can be used for a visit to the Castelbuono Civic Museum. The discount is personalised; the voucher must include the beneficiary’s first and last name and is valid for one week.
