Active participants include members of the i Fauni di Castelbuono cooperative, who have been working on the project since its inception. The unused green space adjacent to the Castello dei Ventimiglia has become an extension of the Civic Museum, capable of hosting outdoor educational initiatives and activities to promote and enhance a new artistic and environmental culture, at a time in history when it is necessary to strengthen the relationship between institutions and the environment, which is our greatest and most important common good. Through this project, the Civic Museum aims to offer a new educational experience for the community by applying the concept of the ‘museum outside the museum’. The positive role played by green spaces in urban contexts is in line with the objectives of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which take on even greater significance during the current emergency, precisely because of their role as a unifying force within the community, responding to the need for interaction and exchange with others, and fostering processes of understanding and trust. The guidelines for managing the Garden will follow the principles of synergistic agriculture and permaculture, through a multidisciplinary artistic approach capable of becoming a shared language, conveying emotions and experiences, breaking down differences and encouraging the involvement of individuals who become active members of a group. The Garden of Art therefore aims to promote the awareness that education is not a responsibility entrusted solely to schools and families, but also to public squares, streets, nature and cultural institutions, as a cultural offering of the city and an opportunity for community and collective growth. Only in this way will every square metre of the territory we have chosen as ‘our home’ truly belong to us; taking care of it means increasingly adopting ‘light’ lifestyles so that our ecological footprint becomes ever smaller. The project was conceived by the APS Il Cinghiale e la Balena, formed by a group of professional artists in the fields of theatre, circus and painting, who, together with experts in education and agriculture, fell in love with the place, art and nature and chose Castelbuono as the base for their activities. The association’s aim is to create cultural initiatives in the natural environment which, by blending different art forms, promote environmental awareness.

The Orto dell’Arte Project conceived by the Association Il Cinghiale e la Balena, curated by Maria Rosa Sossai – Castelbuono Civic Museum From July 2021 – Currently underway L’Orto dell’Arte is an ongoing project involving the direct participation of the people of Castelbuono in the creation of an urban educational garden that explores the relationship […]

[43

post-1935","project","type-project","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","project_category-participatory-projects
["GET
