The volume documents a research project that explores the relationships between humans and plants through artistic, ecological and community-based practices. At the heart of the project is the installation in the Museum’s Orto dell’Arte of a comunità post-varietale di pomodori, the result of the encounter between twenty-five wild and cultivated species. The book brings together critical essays, scientific materials, photographs and documentation of the public activities that have brought the entire project to life and broadened the dialogue with communities, institutions and visitors. A narrative that serves as a manifesto of coexistence adopted by the Castelbuono Civic Museum, as a living organism, composed of works and artefacts, but also of multi-species connections.
