There are several car parks available near the Castle. Please be aware of the ZTL (Restricted Traffic Zone) in force in the historic centre of Castelbuono.

The Castelbuono Civic Museum sees the museum as a means of engaging with the community. In this vision, culture is not a privilege but a practical tool for individual and collective well-being: a means of caring for people, reducing inequalities and building stronger social bonds.<\/p>\n

Pharmakon \u2014 Art and personal care<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Civic Museum has collaborated with the Buccheri La Ferla Fatebenefratelli Hospital in Palermo on the experimental art-therapy project Pharmakon<\/strong>, designed for patients suffering from fibromyalgia \u2014 a chronic condition characterised by widespread pain affecting muscles, joints and tissues.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Inspired by the experience of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the project explored therapies complementary to pharmacological treatment, investigating the effects that art and narrative medicine can have on improving the quality of life of chronically ill patients.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

An experience that confirmed what the WHO had already recognised in 2019: cultural participation tangibly improves people\u2019s physical and mental well-being.<\/p>\n

CTA Fauni \u2014 Art, community and care<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Castelbuono Civic Museum collaborates with the Fauni Assisted Therapeutic Community in Castelbuono<\/strong>, an organisation active in the field of psychiatric rehabilitation and social reintegration.
This collaboration transforms the castle\u2019s cultural heritage into a tool for welcoming, connecting with and caring for people facing periods of vulnerability.<\/p>\n
