On Monday, 26 January 2026 at 5:30 p.m., the Council Chamber \u201cV. Carollo\u201d of the Municipality of Castelbuono will host the presentation of the volume Nella girandola del tempo, dedicated to the unpublished writings of Antonio Mogavero Fina. The initiative is curated by Salvino Leone and Monsignor Domenico Mogavero, in collaboration with the Civic Museum of Castelbuono.<\/p>\n

The publication restores to the community a cultural heritage of great value, the result of the extensive research, study, and writing carried out by Antonio Mogavero Fina, a scholar deeply connected to the history, traditions, and social life of Castelbuono. Among his most significant activities was his association with the periodical Le Madonie<\/em>, to which he actively contributed, helping to preserve and promote the historical and cultural memory of the Madonie region.<\/p>\n

The unpublished materials, brought to light through the research conducted by the Director of the Francesco Min\u00e0 Palumbo Natural History Museum, Salvino Leone, and Monsignor Domenico Mogavero, offer a rich and original insight into Mogavero Fina\u2019s work. The volume includes autobiographical, narrative, poetic, theatrical, and historical writings, highlighting both the versatility and depth of his intellectual commitment.<\/p>\n

The texts derive partly from the collection held at the Civic Museum of Castelbuono, in the public reading room dedicated to the historian since 2011, and partly from private archival materials made available by his family. Taken together, they outline a rigorous and engaged method of inquiry, capable of combining historical analysis with narrative sensitivity, with particular attention to modern Sicilian history and the local history of Castelbuono.<\/p>\n

The event will be introduced and chaired by the Director of the Civic Museum of Castelbuono, Laura Barreca, with opening remarks by the Mayor of Castelbuono, Mario Cicero. The presentation of the writings will be delivered by Salvino Leone, physician and writer, and Monsignor Domenico Mogavero, Bishop Emeritus of Mazara del Vallo. Selected readings will follow, performed by the actress Stefania Sperandeo. A tribute to the scholar and the man will be offered by Mario Lupo, former editor of the periodical Le Madonie<\/em>. Concluding remarks will be given by Maria Enza Puccia, President of the Civic Museum of Castelbuono.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
